Customise your Canva profile by editing your account name, what you use Canva for, and profile photo.

Open Your account → Your profile to manage your name and profile photo.
We're rolling out navigation changes gradually, so some steps in this Help article may not accurately reflect what you see in the app. If you can't find Canva AI, your profile photo, or your Print cart on the homepage, go to More.
Edit account name and purpose for using Canva
- Go to your account profile, then click Your account.
- Select Your profile.
- Select Edit next to your name and enter a new one.
- Select Save.
- To change what you'll be using Canva for, select the What will you be using Canva for? dropdown and choose an option. Your changes save automatically.
To display your account name in Canva email notifications (when inviting team members, sharing a design, etc.), use letters only and avoid numeric and special characters.
Upload, change, or remove your profile photo
Canva Education limits
If you’re using a Canva Education team, students can’t upload or change their profile photo. Your school or district may also limit profile photos for teachers and staff.
If you can't see the photo options, contact your teacher, school IT admin, or the owner/admin of your Canva Education team.
Upload or Change profile photo
- From the Canva homepage, select your profile photo or initials to open the account menu.
- Select Your account.
- Select Your profile.
- Select Upload photo. If you already have a photo, select Change photo. If you see Edit photo, select it first, then Change photo.
- Choose an image from your device.
- Wait for the upload to finish. Your profile photo updates automatically.
Remove your profile photo
On Your profile, select Remove photo and confirm the removal. If you see Edit photo, open it first to find Remove photo. Can’t find the photo controls?
- Seeing Team profile? Open the account menu and select Your account → Your profile to manage your personal photo.
- Missing Upload photo or Change photo? If you belong to a Canva Education team, the restriction described above may apply.
